L’uZine will be performing in Belgium for the first time just after the release of their new album “La 26ème lettre” on 19 May 2023. Melodiggerz is a partner in this eagerly-awaited event at La Ferme du Biéreau.
As part of the 5th edition of Winter Pop, organised by Brussels Major Event for the City of Brussels, we had the pleasure of programming the artist Aminah on 11 December 2022 at Ambiorix Square for a pure Hip-Hop/Soul/Funk moment.
She released her first album Changing Mood under the label Phatmarkt Collective.
The #5 issue of the magazine was also available with a focus on archiving Belgian Hip-Hop and Melodiggerz – interspersed with articles/interviews on Benny The Butcher, Kendrick Lamar, Médine, Driver, Isha, Kalash, Nicholas Craven, etc.
Spurred by the artist Melfiano, the idea of organising an open event for urban cultures in the Centre region had been circulating for some time!
The Cultural Centre of Soignies, with the help of the Melodiggerz team, is particularly happy to have organised a first major Hip-Hop event in Soignies that gathered more than 450 people!
Numerous forces came together to put together a high-quality, rich and original programme where artists and speakers made this festival a moment of sharing and discovering urban cultures: dance, music, murals, beatbox, urban sports demonstrations…
It was also the opportunity for Melodiggerz to accompany Melfiano for the release party of his EP Vamos, which was also released the same day on all platforms and in physical format.
A true living legend, Grazzhoppa is considered the godfather of Belgian hip-hop. Around 1984, he was infected by the Hip-Hop virus. At the end of the 80s, he founded Rhyme Cut Core with the rapper TLP, with whom he released the first Hip-Hop record in the Flemish region in 1993. That same year, he made his first cuts on a vinyl record by the London rapper Blade. He then evolved within the RAB crew (Brussels) and the Brick 9000 label (Ghent). From then on, Grazzhoppa has multiplied his appearances and collaborations on more than 450 media (vinyls, CDs and cassettes). In 2020, Grazzhoppa ‘celebrated’ his 35th career anniversary, albeit very modestly. His 50th anniversary on this ellipsoid was therefore the perfect opportunity for Melodiggerz to properly celebrate his Grandmaster status!
